Ride in YNP with the only female owned operation

Arrow is a bright and athletic horse, as well as personal horse of Billie Taylor, owner of Yellowstone Roughriders.

Cloudy is a sweet-natured and gentle horse with years of experience on the trail. Kind and steady, he takes great care of his riders.

Whether carrying beginners or seasoned riders, Mill Creek makes every ride feel safe and enjoyable.

Always eager to please, Nugget is steady on the trail and loves making new friends, both two-legged and four-legged.

Whether he’s showing off his sure-footed steps or asking for a little extra attention, Hoofy is as lovable as they come.

Sport is our Canadian horse. He came from the Wowk Ranch, in Alberta Canada. Made for the mountains with his athletic build and determination, he is a majestic creature to behold and ride.

Bud, big in size but big in heart too, he’s the perfect companion for adventurers who enjoy a thoughtful, inquisitive friend on the trail.

Dopey is a smart horse with a sense of humor that keeps not only the corrals laughing, but his guests too.

Scooter is a gentle, kind-hearted horse who loves kids. Patient, steady, and easygoing, he’s the perfect partner for little riders learning to feel confident in the saddle.

Reliable and hardworking, Hawke gives his all every day. Strong, steady, and dependable on the trail, he’s the kind of partner you can always count on.

Nate is a mountain pony that enjoys taking rides with his best friend, Arrow. That’s not all Nate knows how to do. He is also trained to drive a buggy as he worked with the Amish when he was younger.

This hard worker doesn’t mind putting in the miles—as long as there are plenty of snack breaks along the way. Monkey keeps work fun with his big heart and silly personality.

Steady and thoughtful, Ada has a kind heart and a no-nonsense attitude. She takes her job seriously, giving riders a safe, dependable, and confidence-building ride every time.

Rob has got a set of long legs! He really covers ground when out on the trail. Lead or follow, Rob doesn’t mind.

You probably won’t be seeing Thunder on your ride this year. He is away at school training under the Justin Guy Horsemanship Program. His time is coming and we are looking forward to his lovely loyal presence under saddle, after he graduates.

This talkative horse isn’t shy about sharing her opinion, nickering and neighing along the way. Slow and steady on the trail, Star takes life at her own pace and always gets the job done with calm confidence.

This seasoned trail veteran loves two things: steady rides and snack breaks! Always calm and reliable, Frost takes his work seriously—except when there’s a tasty treat nearby.

Duke's sweet spirit is so lovely to experience. He travels through Yellowstone and makes wherever he goes a better place.

He is young in age and old in wisdom. Owen’s playful spirit eagerly takes his rider on the trails of Yellowstone ready for whatever adventure awaits them.

Izzy is one good-looking mare and she knows it. She is sassy in the corral and loves to let the other horses know her opinion. Yet under saddle she is on point and responsive. Her ride is as good as her looks.

Ron is regal in spirit. He is what we call our “Whip mule”, always at the end of the pack string because of his athletic abilities. He scampers gallantly over every obstacle that catches him by surprise.

Jake is one of our mules that can be ridden or packed. He is sweet, affectionate, and loves to explore with either pack-string or rider what comes around the bend.

This little pony has a big personality! Sassy, spirited, and full of charm, Pebbles keeps riders on their toes while making every ride entertaining.

Lucy is our one and only Johnson horse. And as Johnson horses go, she is big smart and ready for the adventure. She is number “2” in the female hierarchy at Yellowstone Roughriders, assisting Ada, number “1”, in leading the herd.

Strong and well-mannered Bugsy is a sweet ride. You can feel his pride in taking care of whoever is on his back.

Meet our confident gentle giant! Big, bold, and proud, Flint struts down the trail with calm assurance. Steady and reliable, he’s got a personality as grand as his size—and loves showing off a little flair along the way.

Trigger is our palomino beaut. He knows it and shows it. The ladies fall in love with him quickly. He also carries the wisdom his many years under saddle. How many? We have lost count. But one thing is for sure, he does love his job. Especially when it involves a woman on his back.

Zeke We seem to be collecting allot of Black horses here at Yellowstone Roughriders. None of them are as laid back and playful as Zeke. He is at the gate waiting every morning saying,”pick me, pick me”. He loves his job almost as much as he loves people.

Trapper is a looker. Yes, he is stunning and also shy. Once he gets to know you though, he will not disappoint you. He is a strong agile ride full of sweetness.

Georgie is one of our up and coming sweethearts. We bought her young, thinking she was a warmblood (or half draft). Now with her size, we feel they must of mistaken her, because she is big drafty and beautiful. She will be pulling the wagon someday. First she needs to grow up even more and go to training.

Chico who can easily be confused with his best buddy Thunder, is our one and only Mustang. This summer you will see him at the rodeo grounds, as he is learning to trust us two legged. So stop by and give him some loving. Let him know there are many he can trust.

Odie is one of our shyer fellows. He is a warmblood that is a little more on the drafty side. He has a sweet quiet demeanor and loves to please his rider.

These two little fellows will not be little for very long. Nope! Someday they will be the largest in our herd, and pulling our wagons.

Their names have not yet come because they are special, and special ones sometimes have to wait for their name to arise. So stop by the rodeo ground to visit with them and see what names come to you. Make sure you share those names with us. Thanks!
