Temperatures in the winter range from around 30°F (1°C) to as low as -40°F (-40°C). Snowpack can accumulate 15+ ft (4.5+ m).
Yellowstone National Park makes her own weather. When venturing out into the park, it is essential to be ready for anything. It is crucial to be prepared for extreme temperatures, snow drifts larger than your car & high winds at anytime.
Winter is a time of hardship, and not just for the animals here in the park. Everything is harder in the winter. Everything takes more energy. That's why it is crucial you take care of yourself. Your body burns more calories & you need more fluids. Be sure to drinks LOTS of water & have high calorie snacks to keep your body fueled.
